InterSource offers live instructor-led courses on all important XML-related technologies, including XML, XML Schema, XSL, and XSL-FO.

Our introductory XML courses cover creation of well-formed XML documents, construction of DTDs and XML Schema for XML validation, and construction of XSLTs for transforming XML documents into XHTML and other XML structures.

A separate XSL-FO course provides thorough grounding in the Formatting Objects (FO) language, auto-generation of FO documents from XML and XSLT, and use of FO to generate PDF documents from XML.

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, very flexible text format incorporating a set of rules for encoding documents electronically. XML plays an increasingly important role in the exchange of a wide variety of data on the Web and elsewhere.

The practical benefit obtained is the ability to separate content from format, enabling rendering of the data in an

unlimited range of forms and presentation styles.

XML is defined in the XML 1.0 Specification produced by the W3C. It is a fee-free open standards.

As of 2009, hundreds of XML-based languages have been developed, including RSS, SOAP, and XHTML.
